Ok so you found your dream photographer and booked a couple’s or family session with her/him. You are super excited to have your vision come to life. But then you start trying to pick out clothes for you and your significant other and maybe even your kiddos. Your mind goes into overdrive and panic sets in. “How do I pick just the right thing?” “what is the most flattering for me in pictures?” “what colors will match our background well?” all these questions start running through your mind and you have a hard time deciding what to wear.
Here are just a few tips to help you not only look your best but feel your best for your session!
1. Coordinate your outfits - don’t match them! Especially if you’ve booked me! Looking through my portfolio you’ll see my clients always coordinate with one another but never match. (There are some sessions where matching is cool but that is a really specific session!)
2. Pick your color based on the season and where you live. And if all else fails, I always recommend neutrals; tans, beiges, blacks, whites, greys, light blues, light pinks etc.
3. Pick your outfit first then pick everyone else’s. Especially if you are the momma/wife/fiancé. We can be much harder on ourselves so I recommend you pick yours first! And when in doubt, I always recommend a maxi dress to show movement within the images.
These are just some tips and tricks I hope you find helpful! When you book a session with The Golden Collective I send you a styling guide as well as a link to a Pinterest page with some outfits ideas based on your session. I want this experience to be as much fun as possible and I want you to be as comfortable as possible so I’m happy to help in anyway I can! I mean it, we can set up a video call and everything if you want to just show me what outfits ya got!
Hope you found this helpful!
